Picky eaters

My stinking cat has eaten stuff*mart brand "special kitty" brand cat food all of his life.  One time they were out of that brand so we bought something else inexpensive.  No problem, the cat ate it just as well as the special kitty.  When that bag was gone we went back the what we always bought, the stinking cat refuses to eat it now. Angry  He keeps going over to his dish and meowing telling me he doesn't want that stuff, he wants the good stuff.

I sympathize with you John. Our darned cat has to have a special diet, canned food with absolutely no fish or fish oils in it because of the crystals in his urine and I catch him trying to get into the dogs dry food all the time and he will only eat his own when he gets so hungry that he has to have something.  Sad

I've been looking after my friend's dog for nearly three weeks (she went home last night)..she has two kinds of food in her bowl: one wet and one dry...when I served both dogs their meals I had to separate them by closing the dog gate on the kitchen doorway as Jenny, my friend's dog, would scoff her food down much quicker than Chester and then come and nose into Chester's bowl even if he hadn't finished..I have been giving Chester the wet and dry food too whilst Jenny was here so he would eat his up more quickly (he usually takes his time!)  As I said, Jenny went home last night...and when it came to breakfast time this morning I served up Chester's usual dry food...uho..if looks could kill!!  Looks like Chester's menu arrangements have changed for good now... Our cat finally got over it and now is back to eating "special kitty" cat food just like he always did.  It was a strange couple weeks.  I was surprised he held out that long, then when he realized we were not going to throw out  a whole bag of cat food and go buy the other kind he started eating it again as if nothing happened. Cheesy
