Well, you can always gnaw on a stick of beef jerky in the meantime.

The pain medication they gave me said I was not to drive, operate machienery, or use the stove while taking it.  I guess I'll have to stay off it until after I'm done with my baking today. Roll Eyes  I wonder if that is so I don't lose control of my oven and wreck my coffee cakes and muffins? Cheesy

Today I'm cooking some stewed prunes.  Going to try to counteract the side effects of the drugs I'm taken.   Roll Eyes

Is that why there is a seat belt on the toilet?

Time to revive this thread. Smiley

So...what's cooking?

I'm gonna try some healthier recipes starting tomorrow.  If you have any good ideas, I'd love to hear them!

I just finished baking for "John's Cafe" tomorrow.  Tonight I baked four cinnamon/chocolate chip coffee cakes from scratch (my own recipe) Two dozen blueberry muffins, Two dozen rasberry muffins, Two dozen double chocolate chip muffins with walnuts, two dozen double chocolate mocha muffins and a dozen chocolate cappuccino muffins.  Chocolate is the new health food, full of antioxidants. Tongue

For healthy eating we eat a lot of grilled salmon, grilled boneless skinless chicken breasts, long grain wild rice, lots of romain lettuce, butternut squash, broccolli, black beans, brown rice, baked sweet potatoes, beets.  We don't make it complicated, baked, grilled, steamed or boiled.  We don't fry food.

We started eating healthier (of course being on Weight Watcher's has helped too) as our New Years resolution and we went for a second checkup a couple of days ago for Henry's blood pressure and it has been reduced so much that the doc has taken him of 1/2 of his B/P meds and figures that he will probably have to lower the doses further when we go back again in two weeks to see him. I couldn't believe it and it was the same the second week that we went as it was the first week that we were there.  Smiley

I am with you LisaLisa. Seems I have gained about 15 pounds in 6 months.  That's gotta be reversed!  Went to the grocery yesterday--only healthy stuff bought--no cookies Sadmy favorite snack.
